Mavs Topple Champs For Chance To Be Best In West

Six full games plus 48 minutes of regulation basketball just wasn’t enough to decide the Western Conference Semifinals. Dallas jumped out to an early 20-point lead and after the Spurs tied it up and forced overtime, the Mavericks regrouped and held on for a 119-111 Game 7 OT win in San Antonio, propelling them to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2003. Dirk Nowitzki had 37 points - three coming on a three-point play with 21.6 left in regulation and the Mavs trailing 104-101 - to go with 15 rebounds. Jason Terry returned from his Game 6 suspension and started off 6-for-6 from the field en route to scoring 27 for Dallas. Tim Duncan had a huge game for the no-longer defending champions as he pumped in 41 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. Tony Parker scored 24 and Manu Ginobili chipped in 23. The Mavericks will host the Suns in Game 1 of the West finals on Wednesday
